What an online check writer does
Desktop check programs used to mean an installer, a license key and one computer. A browser-based check writer does the same job on whatever device is in front of you:
- Lays out a standard business or personal check with your name, address and logo.
- Prints your routing number, account number and check number in the E-13B MICR font along the bottom.
- Spells the amount in words for you.
- Adds your signature, or leaves the line blank for a pen.
- Prints on blank check stock, or onto checks you already have.
- Logs each check in a register.
How Quick Check Writer works
- Open the app. Go to quickcheckwriter.com and sign in with Google, email or phone. You can also add it to your home screen so it opens like an app.
- Add your company and bank. Name, address, bank, routing and account number, and the next check number. Add a logo if you like.
- Write the check. Payee, amount, date and memo. The amount in words fills itself in. Payees are saved to an address book the first time you pay them.
- Print or share. Print on blank check stock (top, middle, bottom or three per page), or tap Share to send the check as a PDF by email, WhatsApp or text. Add several checks to a batch and print them together.
Features that matter day to day
Works on your phone
The whole app is built for small screens. Print over Wi-Fi with Share → Print, or send the PDF straight from your phone. See sending a check by WhatsApp or text.
Works offline
After your first visit, the app opens and prints without an internet connection, so a weak signal on a job site doesn't stop you.
Private by design
Many online check services store your bank details on their servers. Quick Check Writer stores companies, bank numbers, payees and check history only on your device; your account holds only how you sign in. Use Export backup to move your data to another device. Pre-printed checks too
Already have a box of checks? Switch to "Pre-printed checks" and only the payee, amount, date and memo print, lined up to your checks' boxes.
Window envelopes and voucher stubs
Print the payee's address so it shows through a window envelope, and add a stub note to the voucher stubs for your records. More in how to print business checks.
Several companies or accounts
Run more than one business or bank account, each with its own logo, address and check numbering. Basic covers one account, Personal two, and Pro up to ten.
Write your first check free
No download and no credit card. Add your bank once, fill in the check, print or share it as a PDF.
Write your first check freeWho uses an online check writer
- Landlords and property managers paying contractors, supers and utilities from the right account for each property, with the unit or month in the memo.
- Small businesses paying vendors without ordering pre-printed checks for every account.
- Freelancers and households who write a check now and then and don't want to buy a whole box from the bank.
What it doesn't do
Quick Check Writer is a check printer, not a bank or payment processor. It doesn't mail checks, send ACH payments, process eChecks or sync with accounting software. If you need those, compare our notes on OnlineCheckWriter and QuickBooks check printing.
