Check writing app for iPhone and iPad

Quick Check Writer turns your iPhone into a checkbook that prints. Fill in a check with your thumb, sign it with your finger, and print it on blank check stock over AirPrint, or share it as a PDF. It opens in Safari, installs to your Home Screen in two taps, and your first check is free.

Checks from your phone, for real

Paying a contractor on site, settling rent from the car, sending a deposit before the end of the day: the moments you need a check are rarely the moments you’re at a desk. Quick Check Writer runs in Safari on iPhone and iPad, so the checkbook is always in your pocket, and it prints a bank-ready check, MICR line included, on any AirPrint printer.

Add it to your Home Screen

  1. Open quickcheckwriter.com in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
  3. Tap the new Quick Check Writer icon. It opens full screen like any app, and after the first visit it works offline.

There’s no App Store download and no update to wait for.

Your first check is free, with no watermark, no account and no credit card.

What it does on iPhone

  • Real checks with the MICR line. Your routing and account numbers print in the E-13B bank font, laid out to the ANSI X9 standard, on blank check stock.
  • Amount in words, automatically, with asterisk padding so nothing can be added.
  • Top, middle, bottom or 3 per page, and voucher stubs with your own note.
  • Your logo and signature: draw it, upload a photo, or type it in a handwriting style.
  • Payee address book, with the address placed for window envelopes.
  • Batch printing when you have several checks to run.
  • A check register of everything you print, with reprint, void and CSV export.
  • Save as PDF to print later, or to email or text a check.

Printing from an iPhone

Tap Print / Share check, then Print, choose your AirPrint printer, and print on blank check stock. iPhone printing can shift slightly compared with a computer, so run the alignment test once from the phone itself and adjust the offsets under Setup. Paper should be US Letter at 100% scale.

No printer nearby? Share the check as a PDF instead: save it to Files, AirDrop it to your Mac, or send it to someone who will print it. Read how to email a check and how to send a check by text before you do, because the person printing it needs check stock too.

Sign with your finger

Draw your signature on the screen once, or take a photo of it on paper and the app cleans up the background. Save it and it fills in on every new check, or use it once and leave it unsaved. You can always print a blank line and sign by hand instead.

Private by design

Your bank account and routing numbers, payees and check history are stored on your iPhone, not on our servers. Sign-in, if you use it, holds only your name and email. Use Export backup to copy everything to another device, such as your Mac.

Price

Your first check is free, with no watermark and no account. After that, printed checks show “SAMPLE – NOT VALID” until you choose a plan: Basic $1.99 a month (1 bank account), Personal $2.99 (2 accounts) or Pro $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year (up to 10 companies, plus QuickBooks export), with a 7-day free trial on Pro for new customers.
